Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is based on using estrogen and progestin, while estrogen replacement therapy (ERT) is used without progestin.

- Headaches;
- Fluid retention;

- Deep venous thrombosis;
- Nausea;
- Pulmonary emboli;
- An increased growth of preexisting uterine fibroids or a worsening of endometriosis (rarely).

Be aware that such symptoms as headaches, nausea, fluid retention, weight gain, and breast tenderness, may be away after several weeks.

You should change an estrogen ring after 3 months passed. In case of falling out the ring during these 3months of treatment, just rinse the ring with warm water and insert it again.

If you are a woman with liver or gallbladder disease, you may make use of vaginal cream.
