What do we know about Risk of Menopause

Women with age after 45 are usually fallen under menopause. But menopause may also occur with women before age 45.
Look through the list below to see what factors enlarge the risk of early menopause (before age 45):
a) menopause may happen because of the elimination of both ovaries (oophorectomy) or removal of the pituitary gland;
b) if you go through chemotherapy, radiation therapy to the abdomen or pelvis or treatment with gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogues (GnRH-As);
c) because of heavy smoking;
d) if you have genetic and autoimmune diseases;
e) if you are eating disorders such as anorexia or bulimia;
